Thanks to the hard work and generosity of Steve Illy of the Kroger Co. the ducks have a brand new house we call the Duck Palace. It is 12x12 and has a pitched roof and a concrete pad below. It was built in memory of his two blue swedes Lucky and Houdini. Thanks so much Steve! You are truly a duck hero!

I am very sad to report the death of my little crippled Pekin duck Trouble. She died just before her third birthday and despite all our efforts and those of her vet, we could not save her life. She is now part of God's heavenly flock and can walk at last. Goodbye Trouble Bubble, you were one of the brightest spots in my life.

This spring brought 12 new beaks to feed. Pekins Alvin, Jolene, Baby, Dixie, Daisy & Shrimpy along with two Blue Swedes, Toot and Otto and four domestic Mallards, Parsley Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. May you all have long happy lives here!

Our Queen, Nancy Townsend aka Mother Goose, passed away of lung cancer in February 2009. Her rapport with waterfowl and her love of teaching the public about geese and ducks make her a hero in our eyes. God speed Mother Goose, may your flocks in heaven be numerous. You will be sorely missed by all duck/goose people here on earth.
